Kinesiology
What is Kinesiology?
Using Kinesiology, I use the response of muscles when gently tested to find imbalances in the body. Kinesiology combines the use of Western physical muscle balancing with Chinese acupuncture meridians, to improve the efficiency and performance of the body which is often restricted or compromised by structural pain, nutritional excesses or deficiencies, emotional difficulties or energy blockages.
Kinesiology restores the body’s balance by releasing energy blockages, eliminating toxic chemicals, reducing stress and enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal and regenerate itself.
As a Systematic Kinesiologist, I offer gentle and effective treatment for many common and not so common problems such as
-
Joint and Muscle Pain associated with the Head, Back, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist Hand, Pelvis, Hip, Knee, Ankle,
-
Digestive issues arising from Food Intolerances or Nutritional Deficiencies, Leaky Gut, IBS, Bloating
-
Anxiety, Stress, Fatigue, Fears and Phobias, Past Trauma stress relief
-
Learning Difficulties, Co-ordination issues, Feeling “Off Form” or “Out of Whack”

FAQs
Question 1
What does an appointment entail?
The first appointment is 1.5 hours. After a fifteen-minute chat, I will ask you to lie on the plinth where I will introduce you to the muscle test. I apply a small amount of gentle pressure for two seconds to your muscles to measure the tonicity of your muscles. I will repeat this several times depending on where your symptoms have led me to. If there is a weak or over facilitated muscle, it will be trying to tell me something and I need to find out what that is. I have ways to find out the reason for the weakness/hypertonicity. It can be structural, nutritional, emotional or related to the acupuncture energy system. Once found, we then fix the imbalances together. It’s a very pleasant and relaxing session and you will leave your first appointment feeling an improvement in your symptoms.
Question 2
What happens next?
You will go home and follow some instructions given to you at the first appointment and you will be given a follow up one-hour appointment for a few days later or in a week’s time. If your first appointment showed issues that are Posture related, you may be advised to attend for Postural Alignment care.
Question 3
How many appointments will I need?
Depending on how severe your health issue is or how long you have suffered with it, I would recommend at least three sessions of Kinesiology. Needless to say, if after two treatments you are feeling fine, you can decide when next to follow up. Some like to come for a regular balance on a monthly basis which acts like a preventative solution for them.
